Klass knot , The Dutch central Bank chief has offered an apology for the institution's involvement in Slave trade during the 19th century . Mr Klass knot made a speach during a gathering in Amsterdam today on behalf of the nederlansche bank , in his words ", i apologise for these facts, i apologise to all those who , because of their personal choices of many including my predecessors who were reduced to the colour of their skin" he made the speach on friday 1st of july 2022 , during an event to mark the Dutch national day ceremony to mark the abolishment of Slave trade , the bank recognises their involvement in transatlantic slave trade from 1814 to 1863 . Compensation was paid to the plantation owners when the Netherlands abolished slave trade in the region
