A passenger train travelling from Athens , collided with a cargo train carrying containers coming from opposite direction. The head on collision killed over 45 people , most of the victims were students on their way back home after a long weekend . The passenger train has about 342 passengers and 10 crew members on train before the accident . The passenger and Cargo train burst into flames after the collition killing dozens of passengers . The accident happened outside the central town of Larissa , 376km north of Athens in the municipality of Tempi .
